Playing around

It was nice outside the past few days (86F), so we went outside to play. Most of the time we go out and just watch Raddy run around and bark. He likes to show off for Charles. He will bark at everything and turn to make sure Charles is still watching. I also took out the jumperoo and Charles loved playing in it and being able to look around outside at the same time.

Charles tried his first "Mum-Mum" and he likes them. About half of it actually gets in his mouth and the other half I am still finding the pieces stuck to various things! We can see his first tooth now. It is sticking up just above his gums and the one next to it is working its way up now.

Daddy dressed me! The pants are white with green frogs, the shirt is blue with frogs, and the bib is blue (a different shade of blue) with frogs. The socks are a shade of blue too. All the pieces go with their own outfit but how's Daddy supposed to know things like that! Oh yeah, the new trend is to wear the bib off to the side :)

Silly Songs

I made up two little songs for Charles.

This one is for when he's drinking his bottle, which we call ba-ba.

"Ba-ba is so very good to me.
I love my ba-ba, yes siree!
2 ounces, 4 ounces, 6 ounces, please.
Give me more ba-ba to fill my tummy!"

(Except I'm going to have to up the ounces soon!)

Here's the other song so he can learn his name. I sing it to the same tune. If you have ever listened to any kids CDs that have "Baa Baa Black Sheep"--that is the tune.

"C-H-A-R-L-E-S
That spells Charles, yes, yes, yes.
C-H-A-R-L-E-S
That spells the name of the baby who's the best!"

Yoda Lamp

This Yoda lamp was Brian's when he was a little boy. He still had it when Charles was born but it didn't have the lamp part. So we found that and now it lights up. But it had holes where you see the "jewels" now. Aunt Cathy gave this to Brian so we thought it would only be right if she could jazz it up for Charles. She found the jewels and glued them in. Here it is all lit up!! It's really great. Even the eyes glow green, but it's hard to tell in the picture. I think it looks a little scary to see green glowing eyes but Brian says Charles will like it.

Hey! We're just hanging out. Charles likes this rocking seat that Midge (Mom's friend in WA) got him. He's got it all figured out now. He can pull on the dog and it makes music. He also figured out that the little bird on the side will come out when he pulls on it like a little He-Man, but I don't think it's supposed to do that!

New Eating and Sleeping for Charles

Charles has slept through the night for the past 4 nights! Yay!! He was always good at sleeping for a long period but he went to bed so early that he would always wake up once in the night to eat. Hey, who can blame him? So he would sleep 5-6 hours then wake up to eat, go back to sleep. Now he has been sleeping for 8-10 hours straight. This is great....whoopee!

Charles has been loving the rice cereal for over a month now. Last week he tried sweet potatoes, which he can't get enough of right now. Next week he will be trying squash. It's so fun to see him eat because he gets so excited.

Happy Birthdays!
