Boo is half lakeland terrier and the vet said he thinks the other half is australian shepherd.

Spring Break Fun

Finger-painting is always fun for Charles. He enjoys mixing the colors and squishing the sponge in his hands. This picture was taken before the paint was all over his face!

Nana bought a stroller/tricycle. Charles rode in it for the first time today and he enjoyed it. It was a little windy so we only went around the block once.

Charles got a sand box this week. It has a table and umbrella too! He thinks it is so much fun but he still won't get inside yet.

Escape from no electricity

We had a bad ice storm and the whole town and surrounding areas lost power. I lived for 5 days without electricity in the house and decided I'd had more than enough of that! We had a generator to keep a space heater in our bedroom along with lights and the tv (no shows, but movies!). I told Emma and Charles to hug for this picture...Emma's doing her part!

Henry told me that he really missed Raddy! They got their cuddle time in.

Brushing his teeth

Charles likes to brush his teeth. He's not using toothpaste yet and he doesn't actually brush his teeth, but we're getting close!

Christmas 2009

On Christmas Eve, Charles was "Santa's Little Helper" or at least that's what his shirt says. He barely had time to pose for this picture with GG-Ma and GG-Pa.

Charles likes the snow. We got snow on Christmas Eve. For about 5 hours that morning we also lost power. But we just played with toys like always. Charles didn't seem to notice the lights were out.

We had birthday cake after Christmas dinner.

Eating with a Spoon

Charles has been trying for a while now to eat with a spoon. He gets angry if we try to help him. So we use two spoons usually -- one for him to practice and one for us to feed him. Now he's getting the hang of it and can eat applesauce, pudding, and yogurt by himself. (Although half ends up in his mouth and half on him!)

Charles' First Haircut

Here's the finished haircut. No more curls! He didn't cry once and he had plenty of combs to play with! Nana and Papaw also came to watch and that's Christine in the corner of the picture. She cuts my hair and Brian's hair too. She's great and she did an excellent job cutting Charles' hair.

My new Kia Borrego

New car

We got a new car last Monday night; it's a Kia Borrego. Okay, it's not really a "car" it is an SUV beast. Don't ask me about the gas mileage...I'm still in denial. But it's nice to drive around and nice to look at, so I love it. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but when I do I'll get it up on the blog. Charles notices he's in a new vehicle, but he doesn't really care. I think he likes the rear air but he just doesn't know it yet. But he did graduate to the forward-facing seat now, so he's actually very happy about that.

1st Birthday Party

Charles had a cupcake for his 1st birthday. He also ate crackers, cheese, and pepperoni. Family who came included: Nana, Papaw, Uncle Nick, Aunt Heay, Uncle Mark, Aunt Cathy, GG-Ma, GG-Pa, Granny and Grandpa (via the web cam). Charles had a really great time!

Jackson County Fair

We went to the fair today with Nana, Papaw, and Aunt Heay (Heather). Charles saw goats, cows, roosters, and miniature horses. There was the 8th annual weiner dog races and the border collie demonstration at the time we were there. Charles really liked the goats the best because he smiled at them. But he was also reaching out for the cows so I guess he liked them too.
